Obituary of Delbert L. Gibson

Delbert L. Gibson, 98, resident of Blue Island since 1963, beloved husband of the late Polly nee Gebhardt, loving father of Lisa (Bob) Kuehnle, Kevin Gibson and April (Jeff) Smith, cherished grandfather of 6 and proud great grandfather of 8. Delbert was a veteran of WWII, serving with the US Army Air Corps earning the Distinguish Flying Cross and Air Medal with Seven Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of American Legion Post 50, Blue Island Kiwanis Club and Boy Scouts of America and was formerly employed as a chemist for Clark Oil for 37 years. Visitation Wednesday, March 23, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home in Blue Island. Funeral Thursday 11:00 am at Fortress Bible Church, 2237 W. 120th St., Blue Island. Interment Abraham Lincoln National V.A. Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
