To Sue, Bobby, John, and Jeff...I am shocked and saddened by sudden passing of your parents.
They were both such wonderful and caring people. I'm glad I got to know both of them during the baseball years back in the days.
I remember Bob Sr. and Barb as a kind, gentle souls who epitomized the words "decent human beings." Both were always so warm and inviting to me. Of course, Bob Sr. and I had too many conversations about "foul balls and insurance"...lol Seriously though, he never had a harsh word about it, which was a great relief.
All I can say is to cherish the memories, remember the good times, and take solace in knowing that they will always be with every one us. Smile and think of the great times had with both, knowing that you had great parents. May they rest in peace and have God watch over them as they continue on their journey, hand in hand, together in heaven.

Bob and Barb were the best neighbors! When we moved to the lake they were so inviting. Bob would leave our dog, Bandit treats on the door step and when we opened the door to let him out, he got used to them being there. We had so many laughs and conversations under their carport. Cold or warm, rain or shine. Barb made us all laugh at her stories. They were both so so proud of their children and grand children. Their obvious love for each other was only exceeded by their kindness to others. What a blessing that they went home together. Prayers for all your family during this very difficult time. I can't even begin to tell you all how sad and truly sorry we are for the loss of two of the most magnificent people in the world. We were so blessed to have them in our lives and to share so many memories with them. Thank you Werniak family for sharing Bob and Barb with us. Mick and Bob would talk about cars and the good old days as Barb and I would just chat away and laugh for hours. May they rest peacefully together in Heaven and cherish the time we had with them forever. Our deepest sympathies to all of you, Mick and Nancy Bechstein

I'm sad to hear of this. I've know Bob and Barb most of my life. Bob was a few years ahead of me in school.I want to share a story to tell you what kind of man Bob was. I had a 73 Chevy Nova Hatch-Back. Bob's did some extensive engine work on it. Upon completion I took for a test run. The engine coolant leaked out and the water jacket cracked. Bob took care of it Bob replaced the engine. During the replacement there were some scratches on the fenders. Bob Jr. took care of that and gave me a good price on painting the whole car.
My condolences to the Warniak Family

My heart breaks for the entire Werniak family. Bob and Barb were our neighbors in Blue Island and they wrote the book on what good neighbors were. I have never had better neighbors. God bless you both into peace. To those you loved and left behind, my deepest condolences. You had the best parents anyone could ever hope for, but you know that. My thoughts and most sincere prayers for some kind of peace in all of this. Love, Connie Palomo-Koehler (Oriente)

I remember the first time we went on vacation together with out kids. Susie, Bobby, Jimmy and Tommy. We would put the kids to bed at night and then sit outside have a few drinks and talking. It didn't take much in those days to amuse yourself. We had a great time and you would have thought we went to the Riviera or someplace really expensive. I also remember the 4 of July picnics held on Mozart Street. Lots of food, fireworks and of course a few drinks. You always spent the next day recouperating. We were teenagers hanging out at Louarts, A & W and the other drive through open at the time. Before you knew it married with kids, then grand kids and finally great grandchildren. We recently joked that the golden years really sucked, what with knee surgery, cataracts etc. But I could never have foreseen such an ending. Your are both in my thoughts today and will be as long as I live. The hurt will lessen but the loss never will. Goodbye dear friends . See you later
