Obituary of Marie A. Pierce

Marie A. Pierce nee Toland, 84, of Blue Island, passed from this life Sunday, April 12, 2020. Marie was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Pierce, Jr., the couple were united in marriage in 1966. She is the loving mother of Jodi (Frank) Rado, Kelly (Don) Lorenzen, Michael (Lori) and Tami Kruse. Marie is the cherished grandmother of Michael, Holly, Kyle, Amber, Corey, Brandie, Brianna, Cheyenne, Arielle, Emily, Erin, Matthew and Olivia and the proud great grandmother of Timothy, Hailee, Jaiden, Gavin, Victoria, Greyson and Evelynn. She was the dear sister of the late William Toland, Evelyn Wrobel, Eugene Toland, Ray Toland, Stanley Toland, and Don (Carrie) Toland. Marie was born December 18, 1935 in Elm Grove, West Virginia to the late Pearl nee Burrows and William Toland. She was a country girl who was raised on a farm, moving to Blue Island in 1963. Marie went to airline school to become a stewardess. She enjoyed painting and sewing, making many costumes for her children. Marie was devoted to her family and supported all their activities. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Benedict Parish. Services and burial will be private. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip.
