Obituary of Alvera Lorraine Rippe

Alvera "Vera" Rippe nee Berger, 100, of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, May 19, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell Rippe who passed away July 3, 1992. Vera is the loving mother of Susan (Robert) Fank, David (Susanne) Rippe and Judith (Rudy) Aguirre. She is the cherished grandmother of Michael Rippe, Caryl (Chris) Styrsky, Bill (Michelle) Fank and Ryan (Stephanie) Rippe. Vera is the proud great grandmother of Cole Styrsky, Caden Styrsky, Nora Styrsky, Annabeth Rippe, Avery Rippe, Rhys Rippe and Rose Fank. She was the dear sister of the late Kenneth (Ellyn) Berger and Harland (Myrtle) Berger. Vera is the cherished aunt of several nieces and nephews. Alvera was born June 23, 1919 in Blue Island to the late Clara nee Dahlke and Joseph Berger. She was formerly employed as an executive secretary for Superintendent Dr. H.L. Richards at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School. She was a long time member of First Ev. Lutheran Church of Blue Island and current member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Darien. Alvera was a gifted quilter and she enjoyed playing cards. A private interment will be held at First Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip.
