Obituary of Jason A. Zilanis
Jason A. Zilanis, 37, of Lansing, passed from this life Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
Jason was born May 6, 1983 in Chicago to Joan Zilanis and the late Thomas Goodwin. He was a member of the 2001 Graduating Class of Shepherd High School. Jason and Amanda were joined in marriage in June of 2009 in Chicago.
Jason had a passion and love for drag-racing, and he was a natural-born mechanic. He enjoyed spending quality time with his Low-Budget Racing family (Dave, Tommy, Brandon, Preacher Boy, and the rest of his family). Jason had an outgoing personality and took great pleasure in BBQ-ing and, cooking for his family and friends.
Jason was known for having a great sense of humor, being extremely dependable, and being very dedicated to his family, friends, and his craft. He loved house music. Jason was even more so a great trash-talker.
Jason was predeceased by his father Thomas Goodwin, his grandmother Yolanda Zilanis, and his Uncle Benny.
Jason is survived by his wife Amanda, his eldest and only daughter Jamea, his eldest-son Addison, his middle-son Clayton, his baby boy Jacob, his mother Joan, his brother Louie, his extended brother Deveit, and his sister Bevva. Also, his many nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
Visitation for Jason will be held Sunday November 1, 2020, from 3pm-8pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Cremation will be private.
Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, all precautions must be adhered to and will be enforced. All visitors must have facial coverings and follow social distancing standards of 6 feet. The number of visitors will be monitored and it is requested that you refrain from physical contact. Out of courtesy to all who wish to pay their respects, please keep your time in the chapel brief. Thank you for your understanding, as we all work together during these unsettled times.
