Obituary of Silvia Lira

Silvia Lira, 59, of Blue Island, passed from this life Friday, January 29, 2021. Silvia is the beloved wife of Reynaldo G. Soto. She is the loving mother of Veronica (Arturo) Jaimes and Amador Delgadillo and the devoted grandmother of Daniel. Silvia is the adored daughter of Alberto Lira and the late Oliveria Castaneda. She is the dear sister of Beatriz Lira, Alfonso Lira and Maria de la Luz Lira. She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory. Silvia was born October 26, 1961 in Mexico City. She was a faithful member of St. Donatus Parish and volunteered for many programs at the church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, often times preparing delicious meals to be shared by all. Silvia also spent time relaxing with her knitting projects. Visitation for Silvia will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Chapel prayers will be conducted Friday at 9:15 am then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, all precautions must be adhered to and will be enforced. All visitors must have facial coverings and follow social distancing standards of 6 feet. The number of visitors will be limited to twenty-five (25) and monitored, it is requested that you refrain from physical contact. Out of courtesy to all who wish to pay their respects, please keep your time in the chapel brief. Thank you for your understanding, as we all work together during these unsettled times.
