Obituary of Maria Torres Zamora

Maria Torres Zamora, 98, of Blue Island, passed from this life Saturday, February 6, 2021. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Carmen, who passed away in 1991. She is the loving mother of Graciela Torres, Salvador (Adamina) Torres, Guadalupe Torres, the late Javier (Rosa) Torres and Gabriela (Jose Luis) Torres. Maria is the devoted grandmother of Alejandro Torres, Victor Torres, Salvador Torres Jr., Daniel Torres, Hiliana Leon, Alfonso Leon, Marina Aguirre, Javier Torres Jr., Francisco Torres, Alberto Torres, Maricarmen Torres, Anthony Torres and Gabriella Torres. She is the cherished great and great great grandmother of many. Maria was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Manuel, Esther, Jesus, Maria, Alfredo and Lidia. She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory. Maria was born February 7, 1922 in Mexico to the late Abelina Gonzalez and Luis Zamora. She was a devoted homemaker and mother. Maria was a hardworking woman who welcomed all those she met with kindness and respect. Visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 8:30 am until the time of chapel prayers at 10:15 am at Krueger Funeral Home, then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., for mass at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, all precautions must be adhered to and will be enforced. All visitors must have facial coverings and follow social distancing standards of 6 feet. The number of visitors will be limited to fifty (50) and monitored, it is requested that you refrain from physical contact.
