Obituary of Olivia Madrid

Olivia Madrid nee Gonzalez, 90, of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at her home. Olivia was the beloved wife of the late Charles Madrid, who passed away July 8, 1998. The couple were united in marriage April 18, 1956. She is the loving mother of Grace Brennan, Tony (Raelle) Madrid, Diane Madrid and Robert Madrid. Olivia is the cherished grandmother of Gloria Madrid, Olivia Madrid, Sarita Madrid, Oscar Limon, Elaina Limon, Charles Limon, Maria Marshel, Miguel Madrid, Carly Madrid, Abigail Madrid and Robert Madrid, Jr. She is the adored great grandmother of James Marshel, Jacob Marshel and soon to be "Baby" Marshel. She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory. Olivia was born October 4, 1930 in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico. She was a faithful member of St. Donatus Church. Olivia was devoted to her family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. She had a warm smile that she shared with everyone she met. Olivia had several hobbies including gardening, traveling, reading, listening to music and dancing. Visitation for Olivia will be held Monday, June 21, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Prayer service will begin Tuesday, at 9:00 am, then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., Blue Island, for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
