Obituary of Lena M. Gentile

Lena M. Gentile nee Reale, 96, of Blue Island, passed from this life Sunday, September 26, 2021. Lena was born January 16, 1925, in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Raffaela nee Fanella and the late Michael Reale. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed being with her family and friends. Lena loved to garden, crochet and a good piece of candy! She also had a big heart for dogs, especially Marlee, Mooma and Arnie. Lena was the beloved wife of the late John Gentile. She is the loving mother of John Gentile and Deborah (Thomas) Ryan. Lena is the cherished grandmother of Erin (Damon) Shiffer, Michael Gentile, T.J. Ryan and Gina (Aaron) Ruff and the proud great grandmother of Payton, D.J. and Ella. She was the dear sister of the late Mary Mignon and Grace DeStadio. She leaves many other family members and friend to cherish her memory. Visitation for Lena will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.
