Obituary of Maria Del Refugio Ballesteros Picasso

Maria Del Refugio Ballesteros Picasso, 84, formerly of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Maria was born April 25, 1937 in Acambaro, Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Isabel Rivera and Melecio Picasso. She was a devout Catholic and was formerly active in the CCD program at Seven Holy Founders Church. Maria enjoyed spending time sewing and crocheting, creating beautiful gifts for her family and friends. However, her biggest passion was music! Maria was the beloved wife of the late Candelario Ballesteros. She is the loving mother of Patricia Ballesteros and Jesus (Maria) Ballesteros and the cherished grandmother of Michaela. Maria was the dear sister of the late Jose, Antonio, Carmen, Angela, Juventino, Jesus, Francisco and Gaspar. Visitation for Maria will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Chapel prayers will begin Monday at 10:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., Blue Island, for mass at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood.
