Obituary of Elaine Seleb

Elaine Seleb (nee Anastasia) passed away on December 15, 2021 at the age of 77. She is survived by her most devoted husband, David George Seleb; her loving children, David J. Seleb (spouse John Cialone), Brian Seleb (spouse Beverly), Jeffrey Seleb (spouse Jeffrey Wilson), and Deborah Katsenis (fiance Joseph Hochhauser); and her adoring grandchildren, Emma Seleb, Katie Seleb, and Sara Seleb. She is also survived by her dear sister Josephine Boersma (spouse James Boersma) and her brother Daniel Anastasia (spouse Lena). Elaine was born and raised in Blue Island, Illinois by her parents Vito and Lucy (nee Morelli) Anastasia. It was at Blue Island Community High School (Dwight D. Eisenhower High School) in Blue Island that she met and then married her sweetheart, David. The two built and spent their lives together in Blue Island, raising their four children and later welcoming their grandchildren and many other family members into their home. Elaine’s table was always filled with the most delicious Italian food ever prepared and more than enough love to share with everyone. After many years of working as a secretary and bookkeeper for Saint Donatus Church in Blue Island and serving the people of that parish, Elaine retired to spend time with her husband and to dote on her grandchildren. Elaine’s life was full of love and laughter and those she leaves behind will keep her memory alive and hold her in their hearts forever. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. A prayer service for Elaine will take during the visitation at 5:00 pm . Interment will be held privately at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
