Obituary of Peggy Roulo

Peggy Roulo (nee Presnak), 78, died January 8, 2022 at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana after battling kidney cancer and other health challenges over the last few years. Her visitation will be held from 4 p.m. through 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11th at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, Illinois. Final respects will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Krueger Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 12th, followed by funeral mass at 11:30 am at St. Christina’s Church, 3342 W. 111th St., Chicago, Illinois and internment at St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Crestwood, Illinois. Peggy was born on January 23, 1943 (12343 as she always reminded her children and grandchildren) to Andrew and Rita Presnak (nee Mueller). She was the third of six children, five girls and one boy. Peggy grew up and remained in the Dolton area for most of her life, a portion of which was on a farm that held fond memories for her. Peggy was a hard worker from her mid-teens, holding different jobs including sales clerk and waitress. It was as a waitress that she met the love of her life, John Roulo (deceased). John and Peggy married and settled in Dolton, Illinois where they raised their four children, Kathy (Scott, deceased) Boord, John Roulo, Robert (Roseann) Roulo and Sharon Roulo. Peggy was devoted to her grandchildren Christopher (Gabrielle), Abbigail, Nathaniel and Sarah and great grandchildren, Eric and Layla. Together John and Peggy also cherished their dogs Trixie, Juliette, Oliver and Cricket (all deceased). Peggy adopted her dog Isabelle Caroline (Izzy) in mid-2018. Izzy had brought her great comfort and companionship since her husband’s death. Peggy was the dear sister of Donna (Richard) Draves, Diane, Judy (Pete) Nigro, Betty Lou Presnak and John Presnak. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband John; parents Andy and Rita; siblings Diane and Judy; in-laws Rich, Pete, Loretta, Tommy, Shirley, Jerry and Diane, Bob and Patsy, Dave, Mary and Sigmund, and Paul. Peggy was also preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Leo and Everette Roulo. Peggy was happiest spending time with her family – whether it was simple visits for a cookout or family trips to Disneyworld or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she had made many visits with her husband, John, and their children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her visits to the area with her mother, Rita, and sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Pete. Peggy and John passed their love of the Upper Peninsula on to their children and grandchildren. Their greatest joy was in the family they built together. Peggy was a strong and positive influence in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Together with John, she created a close-knit family bond that is cherished.
