Obituary of Martin Quiroga

Martin Quiroga, 55, of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Martin was born February 3, 1966 in Durango, Mexico to the late Rita Ontiveros and the late Martin Quiroga. He has been a Blue Island resident for thirty years. Martin was very loving to his family, he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved all sports, especially basketball and was a fan of both the Cubs and the White Sox. Martin has been a member of Local 10, United Brotherhood of Carpenters since 1988. Martin is the beloved husband of Alejandra nee Guzman. He is the loving father of Martin S. (Maria) Quiroga, Christina A. Quiroga and Santiago (Alicia) Quiroga. Martin is the proud grandfather of Martin J.D., Michael, Mia, Mikayla and Mari. He is the dear brother of Jaime Quiroga (Amparo), Maria Luisa Almeraz (Quico), Jesus Quiroga (Bertha), Alfredo Quiroga (Martha), Maria Socorro Quiroga (Valo), Maricela Melero (Humberto), Reina Quiroga (Humberto), Alvaro Quiroga (Silvia) and Juan Carlos Quiroga. Martin leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory. Visitation will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Mary Magdalene/St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., Blue Island. Chapel prayers and last respects will take place at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island on Saturday, January 29, at 9:00 am. Holy Mass will immediately follow at 10:00am at St. Mary Magdalene/St. Benedict Church in Blue Island. Interment will take place at St. Casimir Cemetery.
