Obituary of Maria Ferreira

Maria Ferreira, 86, of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Ferreira, who passed away June 21, 2014. She is the loving mother of Rosa (Mario) Galvan, Jose (Jennifer) Ferreira and Jackie Ferreira. Maria is the devoted grandmother of Mario Cesar Galvan, Alexis Galvan, Christian Galvan, Vivian Ferreira, Tony Ferreira and Briana Galvan and the cherished great grandmother of Isabela, Christian and Ariah. She is the dear sister of Esperanza Munoz, Luisa Munoz, Raquel Munoz, Carlos Munoz, Juventino Munoz and Jose Munoz. Maria dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was loyal to her Christian faith and made sure she attended services at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Hammond with her youngest daughter, Jackie, who was always at her side. Maria attended for many years until she physically could not manage. Maria's other interests included preparing delicious meals for her family, crocheting lovely gifts and dancing. Visitation for Maria will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 3:00pm until time of the evening wake service at 8:00pm. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chicago.
