Obituary of Joaquin E. Vera

Joaquin E. Vera of Chicago, formerly of Morgan Park, passed from this life Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the age of 61. Joaquin was born September 16, 1960 in Pennsylvania to the late Samuel Vera and the late Sandra Powers Vera. He is survived by his beloved children; Joaquin Jr., Lauren, Sandra, Julius, and Gregorio and his loving step-children; Bianca, Shana and Candance. Joaquin is the proud grandfather of 13; Jadai Hope Fullilove, Amir, Amyah, Micah, Israel, Eleana, Juluis, Joaquin, Josiah, Lakota, Myara, Lamonte and Baby Gioyo and the dear brother of the late Theresa, late Samuel, Juan, late Vivian, Maria and Michael. Joaquin was a retired contractor and a former EMCO employee. He belonged to the Yankton Sioux Tribe and was a fan of science fiction and old western movies. He was a Boy Scout, hair stylist, music lover and an amazing stepper. Joaquin loved his dog Sista. Visitation for Joaquin will be held Saturday, February 26, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with services conducted at 5:00pm, all at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Cremation will follow but will be private.
