Obituary of Keith M. Nelson Sr.

Keith Michael Nelson Sr. of Grandville, Michigan formerly of Blue Island, Illinois passed away on April 28, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Keith was born on August 5, 1963 to parents Carolann Novy and Mike Nelson at the Kincheloe Air Force base in Kinross Michigan. Anyone who knew Keith (The Rug Man) knew that he was the most loving son, father, grandfather and husband a family could ask for. Keith was predeceased by father Michael Nelson, step father Jim Novy, grandmother Lucile, grandmother Josephine, aunt Elaine and uncle Bob . Keith is survived by wife Cyndi, mother Carolann Novy, brother Kurt (Denise), and children Keith Jr. (Sole), Katie and Karli (Alex), also the step father to Brandon. Also survived by his grandchildren Kaden, Colton, Logan, Bailey and Avery. Keith was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. Keith's family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Keith was unendingly proud of all of his children and he always tried his best to support them. There will be a celebration of life at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island beginning with visitation on Thursday, May 5th, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services start Friday, May 6th, 10:30 am with chapel prayers then to St. Christina Catholic Church, 3342 W. 111th St., Chicago for mass at 11:30am. Interment St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Krueger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Blue Cap of Blue Island.
