Obituary of Barbara Jean Bukwa

Barbara Jean Bukwa nee Wollenzien, 73, of East Hazel Crest, passed from this life May 4, 2022. Barbara was born August 3, 1948 in Chicago to the late Eleanor nee Hein and the late Leslie Wollenzien. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Tinley Park. Barbara worked in the Sunday School Office for a number of years and helped with Vacation Bible School. She also served her church as a greeter and head usher. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Bukwa, who passed away in 2008. She is the loving sister of Robert (Jeri) Wollenzien, Garry (Cindy) Wollenzien and Roger (Anne) Wollenzien. Barbara is the dear aunt of Rob Wollenzien and David (Laura) Wollenzien and great aunt of Oscar Wollenzien. She is the cherished sister-in-law of George Bukwa, David Bukwa and Dawn Bukwa. Visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6850 W. 159th St., Tinley Park. Barbara will lie in state from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at First Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip.
