Obituary of Maria Montoya de Martinez

Maria Montoya de Martinez, 78, of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Rito Martinez, who passed away February 8, 2017. Maria is the loving mother of Victor M., Rolando (Martha), Julieta, Ana M. (Felipe), the late Baldemar, Martha R. and Maria L. She is the devoted grandmother of Linda V. (Pedro), Mark A., Alondra, Alejandro, Abril and Dayanara and the proud great grandmother of Isabella I. and Emiliano. Maria is the dear sister of Eusebio Montoya, Jose Antonio Montoya and the late Benito Montoya, Guadalupe Montoya, Eglantina Montoya, Arturo Montoya and Javier Montoya. Maria was born December 10, 1943 in Mexico to the late Epifanio Montoya and the late Maria Esparza. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. Maria enjoyed preparing delicious meals to share with everyone. Visitation for Maria will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Chapel prayers will take place Monday at 9:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., Blue Island for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Casimir Cemetery, Chicago.
