Obituary of Margaret Soliday

Margaret Soliday nee Griffith, 89, formerly of Calumet Park, passed from this life Sunday, August 21, 2022.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Charles Soliday, who passed away March 7, 1995. The couple were united in marriage September 12, 1953. She is the loving mother of Leonard (Ruth Ann) Soliday, the late Margo Carbone, Donna (late Dennis) Holste and Onna (late Warren) Togtman. Margaret is the cherished grandmother of Jason (Jen), Jaime, Alisha, Jonathan, Michael, Amber, Arien, Shonna and Nicole and the proud great grandmother of Doss, Nathaniel, Alyssa, Elaina, Faith, Maddie, Evie and Esmae. She is the dear sister of the late William (Helen) Griffith.

Margaret was born November 5, 1932 in Chicago to the late Thelma nee Lee and the late Emmerson Griffith. She was devoted to her family and her church. Margaret was actively involved at Community Covenant Church, formerly in Calumet Park. She was dedicated to the Sunday School program and spent many hours with the children. Margaret then became a member Mission Covenant Church of Blue Island. She was gifted in many aspects of creativity, most of all with oil painting and sewing, while also enjoying cooking and baking for her family and friends.

Visitation for Margaret will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island.  A private interment will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
