Obituary of Kenneth G. Bronson

Kenneth George Bronson, 83, resident of Homewood, IL passed away at his home on 12 March 2023. Ken was born on 7 January 1940 in Blue Island, IL to James and Oneida (Sheehan) Bronson, Sr. He graduated from Blue Island Community High School in 1958 and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. He married Linda (Kerr) Bronson on 29 June 1963. Ken taught math from 1963-2005 at James Hart Junior High School (Homewood District 153). Throughout his career, he coached many boys’ and girls’ basketball, cross country, track and field teams and chaperoned many school activities. During his life, he also taught driver education and readily volunteered for many school and sports organizations in which his family participated.  He especially enjoyed his time puttering around the house and walking his dogs.  Ken is survived by his three children - Lisa Bronson of Homewood, IL, Kenneth R. Bronson and Peter Burke of Homewood, IL, and Cynthia Bronson and Timothy Kloth of Hilliard, OH - and two grandchildren - Anthony and Sydney Kloth. Ken was also the brother/brother-in-law of Nancy and James Bronson, Rosa and Robert Bronson, and Jean and the late John (Jack) Bronson. Cremation private.
