Obituary of Alejandro A. Orozco Jr.

Alejandro A. Orozco Jr., 64, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Blue Island and Plainfield, passed from this life Sunday, April 2, 2023.

Alejandro is the beloved husband of Julianne K. nee Strunga, the couple were united in marriage on September 14, 1991. He is the devoted father of Alyssa (Nick) Torres and Ashley Orozco. Alejandro is the proud grandfather of Nicolas and Elena Torres. He is the cherished brother of Ann (Bob) Signore, Susan (the late Dave) Orozco-Canino and the late Steven Orozco and the dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Alejandro leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Alejandro was born June 10, 1958 to the late Margaret nee Lopez and the late Alejandro A. Orozco Sr. He began his faith education at St Benedict Parish in Blue Island and Marist High School in Chicago. Alejandro continued his education in electronics engineering and computer science at DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago and North Central College in Naperville.

Alejandro was formerly employed by AT&T Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies supporting the 5ESS laboratories, traveling the world bringing telecommunication offices online and managing lab support team. He became an independent engineering consultant for a variety of wireless network projects.

Alejandro practiced his faith as a Eucharist Minister for St Mary Parish in Plainfield. He enjoyed traveling the world and being with family and friends be it poolside, on the beach, at a barbeque or simply watching sports on TV.

A memorial visitation will be held for Alejandro on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, April 21, at 11:00 am at St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish, 2339 York St., Blue Island. Interment of cremains will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
