Obituary of Florence Resendez

Florence Resendez, 71, of Lynwood, formerly of Blue Island, passed from this life Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Florence was the beloved wife of the late Hipolito Resendez who passed away June 19, 1995. She is the loving mother of Hipolito Resendez Jr., and the late David Resendez. Florence is the cherished grandmother of Christina, David, Hipolito, Serina, Brianna, Alicia, Xavier and Alexa. She is the proud great grandmother of many. Florence is the dearest sister of Tina, Luis, Greg (Barb), Mario, Gloria and Robert (Mary Jo). She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Florence was born May 23, 1951 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Luis C. Resendez and the late Maria Lucia Santos. She was a faithful member of St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish. Florence was devoted to her family and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for them. She liked to travel and listen to all genres of music. Florence also like to spend her time knitting.

Visitation for Florence will be held Friday, April 28, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Chapel prayers will begin Saturday at 11:15 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., Blue Island, for mass at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
