Obituary of Amelia Mata

Amelia Mata, 65, of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Amelia was the beloved wife of the late Ramiro Mata, who passed away October 2, 2013. She is the loving mother of Erika Mata, Noemi (Everardo) Angulo and Luis Mata. Amelia is the cherished grandmother of Galilea Xitlali Angulo Mata and Christopher Everardo Angulo Mata.  She is the dear sister of Baudelio (Lupe) Vazquez, Samuel (Monica) Vazquez, Fidel Vazquez, Jose Luis (Iris) Vazquez, Roberto Vazquez, the late Guadalupe Vazquez, Angelica (Alfredo) Hernandez and the late Hector Vazquez.

Amelia fue muy querida por todos, fue una mujer que siempre veía por el prójimo antes que por ella, como madre queremos decir que fue la mejor para sus hijos, como esposa fue una mujer que siempre apoyó a su esposo, y como abuela ella fue muy juguetona y cariñosa a la distancia con sus nietos. Ella fue muy trabajadora desde niña para ella no había nada imposible por hacer. Amelia siempre dio lo mejor de ella, a quienes la rodeaban, su corazón fue bondadoso, noble y tierno. La extrañaremos pero siempre vivirá en los corazones de quienes la quisimos.

Amelia was loved by everyone, she was a woman who always looked after others before herself, as a mother we all she wanted and did the very best for her children, as a wife she was a woman who always supported her husband, and as a grandmother she was very playful and affectionate from a distance with her grandchildren. She was a hard worker since she was a child, for her there was nothing impossible to do. Amelia always gave her best to those around her, her heart was kind, noble and tender. She will be missed but she will always live in the hearts of her loved ones.

Visitation for Amelia will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 from 8:30 am until the time of chapel prayers at 9:45 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., Blue Island for mass at 10:30 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
