Obituary of Arturo Reyes Duenas

“1,2,3…cri, cri, cri.”

Arturo Reyes Duenas of Blue Island, passed from this life Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the age of sixty-one.

Arturo was the devoted father of Rosalia Reyes, Cristina Reyes (Fabian Becerra) and Kassandra Reyes. He is the former spouse of Josefina Reyes. Arturo is the caring brother of Irma Reyes (Jesus Oliva), Maria Santos (Jose Luis) Frausto, Erasmo Reyes, Juan Francisco Reyes Duenas (Aurelia Garcia), Agustin Reyes Duenas (Nancy Cardenas), Rosalio Reyes Duenas (Delfina Ramirez), Amparo Reyes Duenas (Claudio Martinez) and Margarita Reyes Duenas (Jesus Beltran). Arturo leaves many other dear family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Arturo was born December 15, 1961 in Estancia de Animas, municipio de Villa Gonzalez Ortega, Zacatecas, Mexico to the late Mauro Reyes and the late Vicenta Duenas Reyes. He will be fondly remembered as a man who lived his life for others and became a “second father” to many. Arturo enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, sharing his great sense of humor. He would frequent the local Blue Island establishments in which he developed many lasting friendships. If seen with a certain smile on his face, you could be sure he was enjoying his sour gummy worms! Arturo strongly believed his greatest joy and accomplishment in life were his daughters.

Visitation for Arturo will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island.  A chapel prayer service will be conducted at 6 pm.  Cremation is private.
