Obituary of Valentine Paul Floress

Valentine Paul “Bruzzy" Floress of Blue Island, passed from this life Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the age of eighty-nine. He is the beloved husband of Gloria Helaine nee Griska. The couple were united in marriage on December 22, 1973. Valentine is the loving father of Joseph (Heather) Floress and Jessica Floress and the devoted grandfather of Noah Owens. Bruzzy is the dear brother of Irving (Lois), Donald (Katherine), Robert (Dolores), Jeanne (Robert), Eleanor (Donald), Margaret (John), Richard (Fran), George (Luz), Joseph (Esdelada) and Daniel. He leaves numerous other family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Valentine was born September 12, 1934 in Chicago to the late Margaret nee Johnston and the late Valentine Floress. Known as Paul to his friends and Bruzzy to his family, he was formerly employed by Rollin Wheels Auto Sales. He was a United States Army Veteran and a faithful member of St. Walter Parish. Paul had many interests including gardening, reading, playing cards and photography. However, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter and being able to make her smile and laugh!

A memorial visitation for Paul will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of memorial service at 12:00 noon at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island.  Interment of cremains will be held privately at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National VA Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
