Obituary of Maria C. Frausto

Maria C. Frausto, of Blue Island, passed from this life Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the age of ninety-nine.

Maria was the beloved wife of the late Jose Simon Frausto who passed away in 1999. She is the loving mother of Everardo Frausto, Elva Frausto, Rosa Maria Frausto, Jose Manuel Frausto, Obdulia Arellano and Iliana Esparza. Maria is the devoted grandmother of Minerva, Claudio, Gladys, Marisa, Cesar, Everardo Jr., Saul, Sandra, Reynaldo Jr., Ivette, Melvin, Christian, Jesus, Jose, Gabriela, Crystal, Alexia, Ashley and Luis Angel. She is the adored great grandmother of thirty-six and proud great great grandmother of six.

Maria was born December 15, 1924 in Villa Gonzalez Ortega, Zacatecus, Mexico to the late Juan Arrellano and the late Maria Salome Castillo. She was a faithful Catholic woman, with an unwavering devotion to God. Maria graciously looked forward to the moment she would be reunited with her husband in heaven. She embraced her role as matriarch of her family, guiding them to follow the path of faithfulness and prayer. Maria enjoyed making memories with her family and friends, passing on the traditions and celebrations of life. She was the heart and soul of her family. Maria found a sense of peace when she was either in her garden amongst her beautiful flowers or sitting quietly knitting beautiful gifts for her family and friends.

 Visitation for Maria will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Chapel prayers will begin Saturday, at 9:15 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
