Obituary of Rosemary Stegbauer

Rosemary Stegbauer nee Regan, formerly of Blue Island, passed from this life Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the age of one hundred and one.

Rosemary was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Stegbauer, who passed away in March of 1998. The couple were united in marriage in 1945. She is the loving mother of Robert (Ha) Stegbauer, Diane (Robert) Knaack, Fred (Jane) Stegbauer, Thomas Stegbauer and Jean (Richard) Carlson. Rosemary is the devoted grandmother of Cheryl, Deanna, Joe, Kathleen, Ryan, Shannon, Sean, Amy, Charlene and Brian. She is the cherished great grandmother of twenty-one and great great grandmother of four. Rosemary was the dear sister of the late Robert Regan, Mary Parks, Virginia Allison and John Regan. She leaves many other family members to cherish her memory.

Rosemary was born July 20, 1922 in Chicago to the late Mary nee Phillips and the late John T. Regan. Both of her parents emigrated from Ireland, which made her the first generation of Irish in the United States. Being the matriarch of her family filled her heart with immense joy. Rosemary devoted her life to her family being sure that all their needs were met. However, this love was truly returned to her through her grandchildren, great and great grandchildren. Spending hours babysitting and making special memories with them was all she desired. Rosemary will be remembered as a kind, giving woman, she will be missed dearly by those who loved her.

Visitation for Rosemary will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 11:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will be held privately at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
