Obituary of Rudolph Ordaz

Rudolph Ordaz, 82, formerly of Blue Island, passed from this life on July 13, 2024.

Rudolph was born May 7, 1942 in Blue Island, IL to the late Francisco and Trinidad Ordaz. Rudolph was the beloved husband of the late Leona nee Valencia, who passed away June 18, 2023.  The couple were united in marriage for fifty-six years. He is the cherished father of Kevin Ordaz, Lisa Kowalczyk and Robert (Karla Rudy) Ordaz. Rudolph is the proud grandfather of Gianna (Victor Chihuaque) Ordaz, Lorenzo Ordaz, Nina Kowalczyk and Jacob Kowalczyk. He is the dear brother of the late Rebecca (late Pete) Galvan, the late Vera (late Peewee) Moreno and Josephine (Dan) Phillips. Rudolph leaves behind many other family members, friends and lives he touched to cherish his memory.

Rudy was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a dedicated Union Pipefitter Local 597 for many years.  His career had him working at McCormick Place, Navy Pier, Stateville Correction Center and many downtown Chicago landmark buildings.

He always stayed busy working on his home, landscaping and assisting family, friends & neighbors with their projects.

Rudy enjoyed traveling all around the United States with his family, his second home in Arizona and time spent with his children and grandchildren who will cherish his amazing legacy.

He will absolutely be remembered to all for his kindness, laughter and willingness to help others. 

Visitation for Rudy will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Chapel prayers will begin Thursday at 9:15 am at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish, 2339 York St., Blue Island for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
