I was stunned to hear the news of from Steve on Wednesday. On behalf of the Blaettler family, I express our condolences to the Merriman family. Mr. Merriman will live on in our thoughts and prayers. I have known him since I was about 14 years old. I knew him to be a hard worker and dedicated father. I didn't see him often over the past few years. Though the times I did see him he always seemed to be happy. There isn't a lot to say in these circumstances except that we are here for you and are grieving with you. We appreciate the invite to his services and will be honored to attend.

Mike, you were a leader of our family. You never acted bossy or irritated with us as we were growing up. You always just seemed to be. I looked up to you, not because you were my big brother, but because I really appreciated your kindness.I feel so blessed to have known you. Rest easy big brother.
