Obituary of Christine E. Heckler

Christine E. Heckler nee Brink, 85, of Crestwood, formerly of Blue Island. She was the beloved wife of the late Winfield Heckler Jr., who passed away February 9, 1995. The couple were united in marriage in 1947. Christine is the loving mother of Linda (Ken) Schmidtke, Randy (Joy) Heckler, Joan (Dave) Haywood, Lisa (Dan Speziale) Heckler and the late John Heckler. She is the adored grandmother of Randy, Gretchen, Justin, David, Nathan, Clark, Matthew, Ashley and Ellen and the cherished great grandmother of Caleb, Harrison, Jackson, Madeline and Penelope. Christine is the dear sister of Alice Travis and she was preceded in death by seven other siblings. She is the special aunt of Connie (Earl) Koehler. Christine was a faithful member of St. Benedict Church, and was active in the Womens Club of the church. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Visitation for Christine will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Chapel prayers Thursday, 9:15 am then to St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., for mass at 10:00 am. Interment St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood.
