Speedy and I enjoyed visiting with Mr. Struke during our walks in Blue Island. He was a thoughtful man with a good sense of humor. Mr. Struke will be missed, but he will be well remembered.

"Pops" was great. Real. Friendly. Warm. Nicer than he first appeared. Tough for sure. Butter inside. Lucky to know him and his great children.

Dear Kurt & Kristine,
We are so sorry to hear that your father has passed away. Please know that you have our deepest sympathies over your loss.
Your father was a great and endeared friend to all of our family for a long time. I recall many good times when he was at our house working on some “project of the day” with my Dad. They really enjoyed each other’s company and my Dad (and Mom) cherished their friendship. We have such great memories that will live in our hearts forever.
Your father was a thoughtful, kind and gentle person – reflections of his character. His faithful attendance every Sunday at First Lutheran Church also reflects what he knew to be true in Jesus' words written in the book of John:
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” (John 10:27-29)
Our prayers are with both of you during this difficult time and that the Lord will strengthen, comfort and sustain you.
Love – Dave, Lynn & Rachel Haase

Kurt and Kristine....We are so sorry to hear about your Dad passing away. 'Uncle Ed" was a kind, sweet, and gentle man, and such an important part of our family. He was my Dad's best friend, and I know that my Dad valued his friendship very much. They are now reunited again, and that gives me great comfort knowing that.
I came across this yesterday, and I thought it was absolutely beautiful -
"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love".
Your Dad will always be with you....in your heart and in your mind. He has left you with the greatest gifts possible - his love and memories. I pray that these precious gifts will bring you comfort, peace and healing in the days ahead.
Much Love....Patty, John and Dana Demmert

We had not seen Ed for years. Yet we remember him as a good, and pleasant man. He was a blessing to those who knew him, and will be missed. Our hearts are saddened by his passing.
Kurt and Kristine, we ask the Lord to strengthen, comfort and encourage you as you mourn this loss.
"But as it is written, 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him'" (1Corinthians 2:9).

Affectionately known as "Uncle Ed" to me and my family.....We will always have fond memories of a sweet, gentle and kind man who was such an important person in our lives.
Uncle Ed was my Dad's dearest friend and he truly was a part of our family. He was so gifted in his carpentry work....and was always willing to help out whenever he could in our home repairs. I will miss my Saturday morning breakfasts with him....they were special times I will always cherish.
Kurt and Kristine....our deepest sympathy to you in the loss of your Dad. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you in the days ahead. Hold on tight to those precious memories you have of your Dad - they will provide you with love, peace and comfort always!
Our Love.....Cathy, Rich and Alyssa Watt
