I just discovered the death of Bob. So sorry to hear. I lived across the the street from him on Sayre Ave. He was a great neighbor. He was always helping everyone. I was putting a new roof on my house and while on the roof I turned around and there was Bob with a hammer in his hand ready to help. I also worked on the railroad and we had many conversations on that subject. He was one of the last neighbors around after moving into my house 40 years ago. He will be sorely missed.

Past memories, forgotten I have not.
Some have few, I remember quite a lot.
Besides the obvious, I remember you dad so well,
whether it's a fix, funny quips or a story to tell.
People we knew continue to grow in your list,
time marches on, we all have those we miss.
. . . my deepest condolences to you and sis.

Earlier this evening I received a messenger post asking if I was related to Chuck Croach who was friends with Ribert Stam. The message disappeared but I searched and found the obituary for Bob. I know tonight in heavan that my Dad and Bob are once again talking about trains. Before my Dad died they did this fairly frequently. I loved to listen in as they both tried to outdo the other in reciting their memories of the yard. Bob was my Dads mentor and later Bob's yard master. They loved each other and my family loved both Bob and Lorraine.
I shall remember Bob forever!!

Dear Betty and Carol
Just saw the notice about your dad. My thoughts are with you at this time. I trust that you are all well. The thing that immediately comes to mind about your dad is when Betty would play her accordion, your dad always helped her with the accordion. Also, when we were at your house, if I remember right, it was a farm, he always was so nice to all our class. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. When you get sad, just remember how happy your mom and dad are now that they are back together. God Bless you and your families.

Uncle Bob was a very hard worker and our boys loved to hear his stories. He helped my dad George in the early days at Rosebud and also helped clear his land in Beecher where my mom and dad built their home. He loved my mom Helen very much and she loved him.

Our condolences to the Stam family.
I grew up with them at Mission Covenant church. Our Son Matthew has always been a train enthusiast. (Has a whole set that Bob made that he got as a little boy) Matt is now an engineer/conductor.
I am sad to hear this news.
Bob and my Dad (Henry Runge) can resume their joke telling in Heaven.
