While raising 3 kids with her husband & college sweetheart, she began her career as a substitute teacher in Illinois District #218. Once all her children were in school, she became a full time HS English teacher & Dramatics Director, loved by all her students. In the mid 60’s she was promoted to Director of Student Activities & in 1970 was the first woman in the school district to be promoted into upper management as Director of Personnel & Assistant Superintendent. Because of Marge’s love for the youth, she became a child education advocate during her career along with hosting two Foreign Exchange Students. She also had the opportunity to lunch with General Dwight Eisenhower at the HS dedication service of the HS name change from BI Community HS to Dwight Eisenhower HS.
Cremation was private. A graveside service for the burial of ashes will be held Thursday, January 12th, at 12:00 noon at Beverly Cemetery, 12000 S. Kedzie Ave. in Blue Island.
