My deepest sympathizes to the whole family, especially to you Jen. Your father was a very special man who enjoyed life and friendships, he especially appreciated his church family. May you find peace knowing that he and your mom are happily together again, hard as it is for us to be at peace with, but, he loved you very much, I know this for sure. And you loved him greatly, you two had a very special relationship, and there are many precious memories you will hold dear forever. With much love to you, Dave.

Mr. Mansfield kindly sponsored and referred our daughter for treatment at Chicago's Shriner's Hospital. At the time my husband and I lived in Blue Island, but we were unaware of all the contributions he made to the community. Our condolences to the family on the loss of this gracious gentleman.

Jen, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your dad was a special man, full of life and laughter. We'll have wonderful memories of both Fred and Pat, sharing holidays and celebrations.
When I come to the end of the
road and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free!
Miss me a little, but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once
shared, miss me but let me go.
For this journey we all must take,
and each must go alone.
It’s all part of the Master plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely
and sick of heart,
go to the friends we know
and bury your sorrows
in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go.

Jenny,
Our sympathies for your loss.
Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

Fred Mansfield was a dear friend who enjoyed sunny days at the KOA in St Petersburg, FL where he lived during the cold Illinois winters. He was an avid golfer and when physically able loved joining the guys who play each week in Tampa. In recent years we enjoyed many Sunday Dinners after church at a local restaurant. If he felt up to it, he would order a Bloody Mary made with Gin rather than Vodka. Fred was filled with wonderful stories dating from his early childhood through his years as a banker and forward to his time in semi-retirement. Fred will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Blessings Brother as your eternal journey begins.

Our heartfelt condolences to Jennifer on the loss of her beloved Father, however, in retrospect, how fortunate you were to have him! That doesn't fill the void of his loss, but the wonderful memories (and stories) that he shared with you shall always be with you and there will be quiet times when some come to mind unexpectedly to make you smile. That is a tender mercy!
Fred was an outstanding contributor to his country, state and community! The indefatigable time and love he gave to the Shriners, Blue Cap and the banking industry built a monument to who he was that will never be destroyed.
I wish I could be with you to celebrate Fred's life, but time, age and a 20 year old car will hinder me in driving up from Tennessee. Please know I will have at least one single malt Scotch in honor of a very impressive man who gave much to all of us!
Love & Hugs,
Kay
