Bob, I am so sorry for your loss. You gave your mother a rare gift with years of loving care allowing her to be comfortable in her own home.Treasure the memories of your road trips to Navy Pier, the Botanical Gardens, walks at the park to feed the birds, sharing cones at favorite ice cream parlors, and visits to numerous relatives and friends homes - not to mention flying with her to visit Caroline in Colorado! And that's just a short list of the places you went. Not many ninety-somethings can say their life was so full at that age and not many children can say they took the time and patience to make their parent feel so loved. You fought for her to end and like she told you a few weeks ago "I would do it for you Bobby". Looking forward to trying all her cookie recipes again, this time using her own recipe cards because you know I still believe she left out ingredients when I got copies as they never came out as delicious as her batches ; )

Hello to the Kauffman family members. It is with sincere and loving memories of your mother that I send my condolences. I remember her well, always, always friendly and smiling with that big, beautiful smile of hers. She lived an active life and of that you can be proud. Many people will miss her. May she rest in God's perfect peace.
Sincerely,
Sally Joseph (from Riverdale)

Lorraine was a very special person to my wife Margi, and I. We were long time BUDDIES at The College, and she shared her sparkling laugh and personality for many years, before and after her retirement from The College. Mrs Kauffman loved her family, and patient Ray to the fullest.
Lorraine lived a full life and was healthy most of the time.
I had a chance to visit her in Tinley Park in the fall, and she still lit up the room.
Our condolences to the family.
