Obituary of Helen C. Emerson

Helen C. Emerson nee Mancuso, 89, formerly of Calumet City, passed from this life Monday, February 19, 2018.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Harry Emerson who passed away in 1973. She is the loving mother of Patricia (Larry) Belka, Paula (Richard) Socarras and the late Pamela Morelos. Helen is the cherished grandmother of  Rob (Jennifer) Morelos, Trisha (Phil) Alverson, Heather Belka, Jessica Socarras and Daniel Socarras and the proud great grandmother of Griffin Morelos, Avery Morelos and the late Ella Morelos.  Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine nee Fuoco and Antonio Mancuso and also her siblings, Joseph, Theresa, Christina "Tina", Emily, Mary and Frances.

Helen was a devoted homemaker and mother. She was formerly employed in the cafeteria of two suburban high schools. First as a baker at Thornwood High School in South Holland, a job she really enjoyed! Then as a cashier at Thornridge High School in Dolton. Helen was a former member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Parish of South Holland.

Visitation for Helen will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Cremation will be private.
