Obituary of William J. Willig

William J. Willig, 92, of Tinley Park, formerly of Blue Island, passed from this life Wednesday, July 25, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie nee Ballard and is the loving companion of Judy Herbert. Bill is the cherished father of Barbara (the late Donald) Noah. He is the devoted grandfather of Jennifer (James) Siebern, Donald (Ashley) Noah, Jason (Heather) Noah and Daniel Noah and the proud great grandfather of seven. Bill is the dearest brother of the late Mary Bailey and Kitty Mican. He is the dear friend of Rick Bailey.

Bill was a WWII US Navy veteran and a retired engineer of Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad. He was a faithful member of Christ Memorial United Church of Christ, where he was head usher and also served on many committees throughout the years. Bill was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and enjoyed completing zig saw puzzles. Bill liked nothing more than spending time with his precious family and friends and leaves many to cherish his memory.

Visitation for Bill will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:30 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will take place at Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, Chicago.
