I moved away from Chicago for several years but always tried to drop in on Dannette when I was in town. I visited her almost weekly before I left. My last visit to the store brought the sad news. Dannette was so supportive when I retired and was such a great friend. I still can’t look at her obituary without choking up. The thing that stood out most was how much she loved her family and friends and how humorously blunt but wildly kind she was. The grandchildren were all so adored. It’s hard to switch gears from sadness to the joy that comes from appreciating the years we were lucky enough to have someone like Dannette in our lives. Sincere condolences to Dannette’s family; I am sure she will be long missed, Helen Haynes

I lived in Homewood for 16 years of those years I became friends with Dannette she had such a loving warm heart I would stop by her store sometime I would buy things some times she would buy thing from me. What I loved the most about those visits is that we would have long hours of conversation I really enjoyed talking to her ...I moved from Homewood Ill to Nevada in 2010 but every time I would come home I would go by to see her and of course we would talk forever. I had the pleasure to meet her kids and her grand Daughter. I would sometimes call her just to say hello . I considered her my friend . I decided to get her card out and give her a call to see how she was doing to my surprise I got no answer so I decided to look her up on the internet only to discover that my friend had passed on... My heart is really sad to here that she has passed on . Such a loving caring warm hearted person .you will be greatly miss my friend.. My deepest condolence and prayers go out to her entire family I'm very sorry for your loss..

So sorry for your loss. No words can express how I feel. She was a fantastic woman, friend and just a genuinely good person. She was that ear when I needed one and often gave me motherly advice. Loved her as if she was part of my own family. She often spoke about all of her kids , her grandkids and her husband. She loved you all so much and I wish I could say something that would be of help. You all are in my prayers.

Oh Dannette, you crazy woman. You will be missed by many. So sad and sorry to Ron and all of the kids. She was a force be be reckoned with. We had such fun at st. Isidore and playing bunco with the girls. I look at my beautiful dining room set and think of her help in finding it.
Rest well dear woman.

My condolences to Dannette's family. I haven't seen Dannette in a while but she is someone i will never forget.
She started coaching my softball team the Greys with my dad. She didn't have any kids in softball. In fact, Kristi was just a baby. Boy, did all of us young girls look up to her. I could not wait until we had games or practice because of her. Then when I was old enough I started babysitting for Kristi. My first job! Ron would drive me home in his fancy car. She always made sure that she had barbeque fritos for me. I can't even begin to tell you what an impact she made on me. She will always be in my heart!

My heart is broken with hearing the loss of Danette. I met her when I was 10 years old. I babysat for Kristi for years then the boys. She was my softbll coach growing up and I idolized her. I even named my daughter Kristi. She was an amazing caring, do everything for everyone else compassionate person. Heaven is receiving a true angel. My heart and prayers go out to Ron, Kristi, the boys and her whole family.
