I have known Marianne since first grade at St. Salomea School. She was a quiet, humble person. She loved books. She was very close with Mary Ann Zeszutko, who had lost her parents at a very early age.
Later in life, Marianne and I had a conversation about the wonderful education we received from the Sisters of St. Joseph (Third Order St. Francis). That conversation helped mold an amends process for me with the surviving nuns. What a joy I experienced making amends to Sister Lucy Sliwinski and Sister Donatille Ramut. I was not exactly the best kid in the class. What a freeing experience that was! And, Marianne was never aware that she set that amends process in motion.
I had nicknames for everyone. Hers was "Nairobi Liaubi". I would tell her "I watched the Nairobi Liaubi show on TV last night"!! Eventually she caught on that Nairobi Liaubi was Carol Burnett. I don't think she appreciated the nickname. Tolerate it, she did.
Rest in Peace old friend. Keep the pipe organ turned on...I'll be waiting to play it. And keep the station tuned to Nairobi Liaubi.

Marianne was a loyal faithful friend for the more than 60 years that I knew her. She will be deeply missed.

The photo is the way that I remember Mary Ann. I attended Mother of Sorrows HS with her. She helped me get passing grades in freshman science class. She was kind to everyone who came her way. I have enjoyed the Library like she did.
