So sorry we could not make it to Illinois for the services. Our deepest sympathies to Pam, Janice and their families on the loss of their mother/my 2nd cousin. I remember Connie as a smart, wonderful, kind person with a great sense of humor. I have very pleasant memories of her when I was a young boy when we we would all get together at Gramma Runge's house for various occasions. I've thought of her and the rest of the family often over the years we have been away from Illinois and much enjoyed the time Connie and Hank visited us in Hawaii and when she, Hank, and Janice visited us in Virginia.

Uncle Hank & Family, We were so sorry to hear of Aunt Connie's passing. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. I will always remember the "family Christmases" spent with the entire Runge family and spaghetti dinners at your church. Aunt Connie was the type who never met a stranger and always left us with a smile and a hug. May she rest in eternal peace. Larry, Ruth, Allison & Alex Penilla

What an incredible honor and blessing it was to serve as Connie's pastor from '88 - '94. She and Hank were wonderfully encouraging servants of Jesus who gave strong support to their young pastor. Every Christmas season since '94, I think of Connie's rendition of "Gesu Bambino" and wish that I could invite her to share that song with the congregation I presently serve. Connie and Hank modeled for all of us what it is to live together in marriage with a servant heart toward your partner. I thank the Living Jesus for the joy and delight of having Connie as a friend.
