The Col. was an on line friend and a very eclectic person. I will miss his emails,
I did not always agree, but I respected his view point. May he rest in peace.

James will be sorely missed. He was such a good friend of my Husband through the Lions Club. Bob really respected him and enjoyed many visit with James and Normjeanne.

We are all a composite of our strengths and our flaws, and everyone understands us with both of these simultaneously in mind. Jim probably learned this as much from his experiences in the Marines, as well as his experiences with his families -- from what he would share, there were very few diffences between family matters and the armed forces. Jim clearly cared about doing the right thing and not being beholden to someone else's construct of what might be right, conceding now and then quietly that he wasn't always sure himself. From time to time his desire to steer people to understand what was right in his opinion created some friction, but Jim was not going to be played for a chump nor a feather for every wind that blows. Despite any philosophical disagreements, Jim always sought to provide something useful to others. Sometimes that was a toy dump truck retrieved from a garage sale for one of the boys. Sometimes that was advice given with good intent. Jim Lee was a man who wanted to make a positive impact in a practical way on the lives of the people he loved. He did.
